Some history...

goodgame is a PC video gaming team which was born in March of 2000. It has since then been one of the main French actors in the emerging phenomenon of competitive video gaming, also called "Electronic Sports".

In the beginning goodgame only gathered StarCraft : Brood War players, but a Counter Strike section was added to the team's roster back in September 2000. While the initial squad closed its doors a couple of month later, the Counter Strike team has been around since then, evolving at the highest level in its home country France, amongst the best in Europe and the world.

Amongst the teams most notable achievements are the National Champion title acquired in May 2003 and the 4th place at the Electronic Sports World Cup a couple of weeks later. One can also remember the 4th spots at the 2002 World Cyber Games and the 2002 CPL Cologne event. goodgame also won the national event at Lan Arena 7 and ranked first overall in Lan Arena 6 back in 2001.

In the year 2004, goodgame will be trying to achieve even more than in the past by keeping its national title and getting even further in international competitions such the Electronic Sports World Cup or the Cyberathlete Professional League events.

More over, goodgame has made a step towards a broader and more efficient relationship with the media, especially the mass media. As a matter of fact we were tired as Electronic Sports fans of the negative media coverage people like us were getting. Being amongst the leaders of this community we have made the decision to take a step forward a better recognition of our passion.

This step is first materialized in our baseline : "Serious gaming !". With this baseline we want to make it clear we're proud of doing what we do, instead of shying away shamefully thinking "We'll get dubbed as nerdz if they realize we like gaming", and we want to ignite curiosity in the media's mind by doing so. We want them, who most of the time cover gamers as if they were sick people in need of psychological assistance, to wonder why people would be proud of playing video games not only for fun but in a serious, organized way, we want them to ask so that we can provide them with smart answers which will help change their mind, hence the way they cover the sport.
